Alejandro Cortes is an ASC Award winning cinematographer based in Brooklyn. Born and raised in Mexico, he migrated to NYC in 2013 to shoot narrative and documentary films. He has shot in Mexico, Peru, India, Dominican Republic and the USA.

Alejandro was recently selected by the American Society of Cinematographers to be a part of the Vision Mentorship Program 2022-2023.

His clients include brands like Harper's Baazar, Amnesty International, National Geographic, Disney +, AT&T, and A-List talent such as J Balvin, Cyndi Lauper, Issa Rae, Yola, Julianne Hough, to name a few. He has been featured in American Cinematographer and Filmmaker Magazine, as well as some of the most important newspapers in Mexico.
 
His work has produced several awards around the world, including the 2018 ASC Haskell Wexler Heritage Award for outstanding cinematography in documentary for "Adrift", a short that was also in consideration for the Academy Awards in 2019.
